What do I do if the renter informs me that he/she will be late to return the vehicle?

 

Depending on the length of the delay and the terms of the rental contract, you will be entitled to charge the tenant a supplement to the rental price.

If you are more than 2 hours late and up to 6 hours late, the owner is entitled to ask the tenant to pay 10 euros per hour of delay.

After 6 hours, the injured party is entitled to claim the equivalent of one day's rental plus one hundred per cent (100%), i.e. two days' rental.

Finally, you should be aware that the rental period cannot extend beyond the return date, as your insurance will no longer be effective after that date. This means that, in the event of an accident, you will be liable to pay the full cost.
