Mercantour is accessed primarily via the A8 motorway along the coast and the Route Nationale 202 heading inland. Tolls apply on the A8, payable by card or cash at barrier plazas. Once inside the park, roads are mostly single-carriageway departmental routes with tight bends and altitude changes. Speed limits for motorhomes over 3.5 tonnes are 110 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on open roads. Larger vehicles should note width restrictions on some mountain passes, particularly the D2205 through the Vésubie valley.
