What you need to know about roads and motorways in North Holland

Motorways in Noord-Holland are toll-free, so you can travel the A4, A7, A9, and other routes without any charges. The general speed limit on motorways is 100 km/h during the day (06:00–19:00) and 120 or 130 km/h at night, but motorhomes over 3,500 kg are limited to 90 km/h on motorways and 80 km/h on other roads. Signage is clear and in Dutch, with frequent service areas offering fuel, toilets, and parking suitable for larger vehicles. Be aware that some urban ring roads around Amsterdam have height or weight restrictions, so plan your route in advance if you are driving a taller motorhome.
