This 400 km Ontario circuit takes you from Bracebridge through Huntsville and into Algonquin Provincial Park. Expect winding forest roads, lakeside campsites, and excellent wildlife spotting. A campervan handles the narrower park roads well. Set aside 5–8 days for a relaxed pace.
Stretching 700 km along Ontario's western shore, this route runs from Grand Bend north through Sauble Beach to Manitoulin Island. Long sandy beaches and quiet provincial parks make it a great motorhome journey. Fuel stops are regular, and the route suits 7–11 days of unhurried coastal exploration.

Ontario offers a wide network of provincial park campgrounds, from lakeside pitches in the south to remote boreal sites in the north. Most parks provide electrical hook-ups, drinking water, toilets, and shower blocks suitable for both campervans and motorhomes. Many sites also include fire pits, picnic tables, and dump stations. Booking ahead through Ontario Parks is recommended during summer, especially for popular locations near the Great Lakes and Algonquin.
Ontario's major highways, including the Trans-Canada Highway (Highway 17) and Highway 401, are toll-free for most of their length. The exception is Highway 407 near Toronto, an electronic toll road where fees are charged by distance — larger vehicles pay a higher rate. Speed limits on Ontario's highways are generally 100 km/h, though some sections of Highway 400 allow 110 km/h. Motorhomes and campervans follow the same posted limits as cars unless signage states otherwise. Rest areas with fuel, toilets, and parking for larger vehicles appear regularly along main routes. In northern Ontario, distances between services can be longer, so plan fuel stops carefully.
