From sleek A-class models to versatile coachbuilts and low-profiles, there’s a motorhome for every adventure—whether you need a compact getaway for two or a spacious multi-berth for the whole family.
The campervan is the ultimate all-rounder. Effortlessly practical and built for freedom, it’s just as at home navigating tight city streets as it is exploring the heart of the countryside.
Vienna's Ringstrasse, a grand boulevard completed in 1865, loops 5.3 km around the historic centre and connects many of the city's most celebrated landmarks. Stroll through the grounds of Schönbrunn Palace, explore the vast collections at the Kunsthistorisches Museum, or catch a performance at the Wiener Staatsoper. For a change of pace, head to the Prater, where the iconic Riesenrad Ferris wheel has been turning since 1897. The Danube Island, stretching over 21 km alongside the river, offers cycling paths, swimming spots, and green space that feels a world away from the busy streets. Bratislava is just 65 km to the east, making it an easy cross-border day trip, while the rolling vineyards of the Wachau Valley begin roughly 80 km to the west — both are well worth a visit by road. Vienna's wide avenues and well-signposted routes make it surprisingly comfortable to navigate in a larger vehicle, and several campsites sit along the Neue Donau, giving you waterside pitches within the city limits. Hiring a campervan or motorhome through Yescapa connects you directly with local owners across Vienna, so you can find a vehicle that suits your group, often at a better price than traditional hire companies. Whether you are planning a city break or using Vienna as a launchpad for an Austrian road trip, a campervan gives you the freedom to set your own schedule and explore at your own pace.
Vienna is wonderful in every season. May to September brings warm, long days ideal for open-air exploring, and the Donauinselfest — one of Europe's largest open-air music festivals — lights up the Danube Island each June. From mid-November, Vienna's famous Christmas markets fill squares across the city, creating a magical atmosphere for a winter campervan trip. Spring and autumn are quieter, with comfortable driving conditions and more availability at campsites along the Neue Donau. Hiring through Yescapa's peer-to-peer platform often means more competitive rates outside peak summer, so booking a motorhome for an autumn visit can be especially good value. Plan ahead for June and December to secure your preferred vehicle.

Vienna offers a solid selection of campsites, most of them positioned along the Neue Donau on the city's eastern side. These urban sites provide convenient access to public transport and cycling paths while still giving you a riverside setting. Expect facilities such as electric hook-ups, modern shower blocks, Wi-Fi, and dedicated pitches for both campervans and motorhomes. Just outside the city, Klosterneuburg adds a quieter, greener option with easy access to the Wienerwald.
Vienna operates a short-term parking zone system across most inner districts, and larger vehicles face additional restrictions in the city centre. Overnight parking in a motorhome or campervan on public streets is generally not permitted. Your best option is to use one of the city's Park and Ride (P+R) facilities on the outskirts, which connect to the U-Bahn network and can accommodate larger vehicles. Always check height barriers before entering.
