Find a wide selection of campervans and motorhomes for hire in Yorkshire and the surrounding area. Flexibility, competitive prices and insurance included.
Yorkshire and the Humber is home to three national parks — the Yorkshire Dales, the North York Moors, and the Peak District's northern edge — making it one of the most landscape-rich regions in England. From the medieval city walls of York to the dramatic chalk cliffs at Flamborough Head, the area rewards slow, exploratory travel. The distance from Sheffield in the south to Whitby on the North Sea coast is roughly 145 km, while Leeds to Scarborough covers about 105 km, giving you a sense of how compact yet varied the region really is. Rolling moorland gives way to deep limestone valleys, and the coastline between Bridlington and Staithes offers long stretches ideal for parking up and walking. Inland, narrow roads through the Dales — think Buttertubs Pass and Swaledale — are well suited to campervans, though larger motorhomes will find plenty of room on the main A-roads and in well-equipped campsites across the region. Market towns like Skipton, Helmsley, and Beverley make perfect overnight stops, each with local food markets and independent shops. Through Yescapa, you can hire directly from vehicle owners based across Yorkshire and the Humber, choosing from a wide range of campervans and motorhomes to match your group size and travel style. It is a peer-to-peer approach that keeps costs fair and puts local knowledge at your fingertips from the moment you collect the keys.
May to September is the prime window for a campervan trip through Yorkshire and the Humber, with long daylight hours and reliable access to higher-altitude routes in the Dales. The Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate each July is a highlight worth planning around, while Whitby Goth Weekend in late October draws visitors to the coast for a memorable autumn experience. Campsites across Yorkshire and the Humber are generally open from Easter through October, with many offering full hook-ups for motorhomes. Booking through Yescapa outside peak summer months can mean better availability and more competitive hire prices from local owners, so spring and early autumn are well worth considering.

Yorkshire and the Humber offers a broad spread of campsites, from clifftop pitches overlooking the North Sea to sheltered spots in the Dales and Moors. Many sites provide hardstanding pitches, electric hook-ups, and dedicated motorhome service points alongside shower blocks and waste disposal. Whether you are touring Yorkshire and the Humber in a compact campervan or a full-size motorhome, you will find well-maintained facilities right across the region.
Yorkshire and the Humber has no toll roads, so you can travel freely across the region without extra charges. The M1 and M62 motorways are the main arteries, connecting Sheffield, Leeds, and Hull efficiently. The national speed limit for motorhomes over 3,050 kg is 60 mph on dual carriageways and 70 mph on motorways, though single carriageways drop to 50 mph. Rural A-roads through the Dales and Moors can be narrow with passing places, so plan your route if you are driving a larger vehicle. Service stations with dedicated motorhome facilities are available along the M62 corridor.

Fabio was a really great guest and left the camper van in perfect condition. He enjoyed His adventure exploring Ireland and we were delighted he hired one of our campervans.
We had an excellent experience renting our campervan from Laura. Everything was exactly as described, the van was well equipped and reliable, and we had no issues at all throughout our trip. It was a fantastic way to explore Southern France, giving us the freedom to visit beautiful towns, beaches and countryside at our own pace. Laura was great to deal with from start to finish and made the whole process simple and stress free. Highly recommended! 😊 Oisín & Ellen (Ireland)
