Los Angeles sprawls across 1,302 square kilometres of coastal basin, framed by the Santa Monica Mountains to the north and the Pacific Ocean to the west — making it one of the most geographically diverse cities you can explore on four wheels. Start at the Griffith Observatory, perched on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood with panoramic views stretching from downtown's skyline to the sea. Head west to the Getty Center, whose travertine-clad campus houses European paintings and sculpture gardens above the 405 freeway. Culture lovers will find the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) on Wilshire Boulevard, home to more than 147,000 works spanning 6,000 years. For a change of pace, stroll the Venice Beach Boardwalk, where street performers and murals line a two-mile oceanfront promenade. Santa Barbara sits roughly 160 km northwest along the Pacific Coast Highway, while San Diego is about 190 km to the south — both ideal for extending your trip. The city's wide boulevards and well-signed motorways suit motorhome travel, though canyon roads in the Hollywood Hills can be narrow and winding. Hiring a campervan through Yescapa connects you directly with local owners across the greater LA area, so you can pick up your vehicle in a neighbourhood that suits your route. With peer-to-peer choice and competitive pricing, a campervan hire from Los Angeles puts the whole of Southern California within easy reach.
Los Angeles enjoys a mild, Mediterranean climate year-round, making any season a fine time to visit by campervan. Spring (March to May) brings comfortable temperatures and wildflower blooms in the surrounding hills. Summer is peak season — book your motorhome hire on Yescapa early to lock in the best peer-to-peer rates. Autumn is ideal for catching events like the LA County Fair in September. Winter stays pleasant and is perfect for quieter coastal drives. Los Angeles campsites along the coast are popular in every season, so reserving pitches in advance is always a good idea.

The greater Los Angeles area offers a fine mix of beachfront, hillside, and urban campsites suited to both campervans and motorhomes. Many coastal sites provide electric hook-ups, fresh-water points, showers, and dump stations. Inland options near the Santa Monica Mountains add scenic hiking right from your pitch. If you prefer staying closer to the city centre, a handful of urban parks cater to self-contained vehicles with basic facilities.
Los Angeles requires you to check local signage carefully, as overnight parking rules vary by neighbourhood. Many streets prohibit vehicles over six metres between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Metered car parks in tourist areas often have height restrictions, so look for designated oversized-vehicle lots. Always confirm current regulations before leaving your vehicle overnight.

Fabio was a really great guest and left the camper van in perfect condition. He enjoyed His adventure exploring Ireland and we were delighted he hired one of our campervans.
We had an excellent experience renting our campervan from Laura. Everything was exactly as described, the van was well equipped and reliable, and we had no issues at all throughout our trip. It was a fantastic way to explore Southern France, giving us the freedom to visit beautiful towns, beaches and countryside at our own pace. Laura was great to deal with from start to finish and made the whole process simple and stress free. Highly recommended! 😊 Oisín & Ellen (Ireland)
